The challenge
Before working with me, the Joint Industrial Development Authority of Wythe County faced significant website challenges. The outdated design and poor functionality left a weak first impression on investors and site selectors evaluating the region.
Navigation was unclear, making it difficult for visitors to find essential information about sites, incentives, and workforce resources. The website lacked mobile responsiveness, frustrating users on phones and tablets. Slow load speeds worsened engagement, causing visitors to leave before discovering the county’s advantages.
Content management created additional difficulties. The outdated CMS required technical assistance for updates, slowing response times and limiting communication with stakeholders. In its existing form, the website failed to represent JIDA’s progressive and proactive approach to economic development.
They needed more than a visual upgrade. The priorities included structured navigation, mobile responsiveness, simplified content management, and stronger digital visibility—a platform that accurately reflected their mission to advance Wythe County’s economic future.
